A New Device Prevents Elevator Accidents Result From Moving Elevator With Open Door

FSSG In a nutshell

FSSG is a patented electrical device installed in series with elevator door locks safety circuit, to detect any by-pass that may result in elevator running with open door, upon detection FSSG prevents elevator “NORMAL” operation and changes elevator control into “SERVICE” mode, thus prevents automatic movement with open door, thus prevents horrific elevator accidents.

How FSSG protect the public riders
Elevator runs with open doors because of 2 reasons only, either Mechanical or electrical failure, Mechanical failure (machine brake or suspension) that led to elevator runs with open door, has been resolved by the Unintended Car Movement( UCM) protection. the only problem with it, in case of door locks by-pass the UCM is disabled and cannot protect the public.

Electrical failure (door lock by-pass, car switch by-pass) up till now considered to be Human error / unresolved, with the FSSG this problem has been resolved, Human error is not valid any more.

Today’s news, we’ve successfully implemented a new safety method for which, FSSG employs the UCM to creates for the first time in elevator history a comprehensive elevator protection, to ensures that no matter what’s the failure, “this elevator will not run automatically with open door.”

FSSG Description & Functions

  • FSSG is an electric device that connected in series to any safety chain to be monitored, such as landing door locks or car gate switch.
  • FSSG detects any by pass of safety circuit, either intentionally by elevator mechanic or unintentionally by-pass resulting from Short-Circuit in elevator controller or the shaft.
  • FSSG upon detection of such by-pass, switches elevator control into inspection mode. thus prevents accidents results from automatic movement with open door, but allows elevator mechanic to run the elevator under inspection mode.
  • FSSG does not disable the UCM protection during by-pass as it’s distinguish between elevator runs on by-pass, or elevator runs on safety circuit., even though by-pass exist FSSG detects also a single landing door by-pass or car gate switch by-pass, based on car door position, according to international elevator code A17.1 & EN81-20.
  • FSSG is self protected, it detects and alert any attempt to disable / by-pass the FSSG by placing a jumper wire over it.
  • FSSG detect and alert an internal failure of the FSSG
  • FSSG employ the UCM to prevent either mechanical or electrical failure that result with car running with open door.
  • FSSG is easy to adapt to all kinds of existing elevators
  • FSSG is Highly reliable, low cost and easy to install

Do not wait for the next accident act Now, FSSG

Dakshidin Update

Dakshidin Corporation Update. (Pink Sheets: DKSC)

Since the last update, Dakshiden Corporation has been struggling to complete and close an agreement with what initially appeared to be a very interested party however, to date has not been successful in doing so. After a number of meetings it emerged that the company that we were negotiating with had a number of internal issues to deal with prior to being able to make any commitment and eventually it abruptly ceased all correspondence with Dakshidin Corporation.

As a part of those negotiations, Dakshidin Corporation was undertaking a financial audit. Despite the fact that communications with the other party stopped prior to Dakshidin Corporation having to supply them the financial statements, we were still endeavoring to complete the audit but were unable to do so as a result of a lack of funds; in fact, the company has not had the funds necessary to provide regular updates.

As a result of this long period without sales, Dakshidin Corporation is once again in default with Restec LLC. however, Restec LLC has assured Dakshidin Corporation that an order of 50 windmills would cure this default. 50 windmills is the minimum order acceptable to the manufacturer.

Dakshidin Corporation is currently exploring other sources to initiate and close a deal for the manufacturing and sales of the water pumping windmills however, given the disappointing results of the past, we do not wish to give the impression that any deal is imminent. We will release updates as soon as there is something tangible to report.

Line Generators for Machine Vision Offer Improved Performance

Coherent Inc. (Santa Clara, CA) has introduced a new range of diode-laser based line generators which deliver enhanced flexibility, unique output optimization capabilities, and extended lifetimes. This series of new line generators, called the StingRay, will enable the construction of faster and more accurate machine vision systems that utilize 3D triangulation. The   StingRay series mates a diode laser with high performance electronics and precision, refractive optics for collimation and line generation covering the widest available range of fan angles. They also incorporate optional diffractive elements for creating complex output patterns.  StingRay models are available with output powers as high as 200 mW and at key wavelengths throughout the 450 nm to 1550 nm spectral range, including the popular 450 nm, 520 nm, 635 nm, and 660 nm lines.

StingRay lasers are the first to feature an industry leading, line intensity non-uniformity down to ±5% in a standard product. This high uniformity reduces the need for image post-processing, and translates directly into increased measurement speed and dimensional accuracy. StingRay lasers are also unique in offering external user focusable optics, which allow the laser line to be precisely optimized for the exact distance over which it is projected.  Additionally, the StingRay’s optomechanical design permits “dynamic line balancing,” enabling simple correction of any intensity bias in configurations where the laser must be used at off axis illumination angles. To further enhance usability, Stingray lasers also include an internal “health monitor” that indicates when a diode module is approaching end of life, thus allowing for planned replacement, and avoiding production downtime due to an unexpected failure.

Avoiding the Perils of Dangerous Car Modifications

TorqueCars http://www.torquecars.com, one of the UK’s leading online car modding communities today launched an awareness campaign to highlight the dangers of poor quality DIY car modifications by inexperienced owners.

We see many modified cars that are downright dangerous or at least going to be unreliable. It seems that lots of car owners with minimal knowledge are making changes to their cars without realising the implications. By highlighting these problems TorqueCars hope to minimise the negative impact created by these low budget, poor quality modified cars, and focus on a professional approach to car modification.

It only takes a few high profile incidents involving poorly modified cars before the clamour is raised for legislation outlawing all modifications or restricting the choice of modifications people can do.

Some young drivers seem to think that the more noise the car makes the faster it goes. Experience proves this to be incorrect and often these large exhausts and noisy induction kits have a negative effect on the cars performance and power.

One particular area of concern is with car electrics. Inexperienced DIYers will often overload circuits or hack into wires for power without making proper provisions for vibrations wear and adequate electrical insulation. These can often short out potentially causing a fire or at least creating a breakdown.

The most common electrical mistake is putting a wire straight through a bulk head without placing a rubber grommet around the wire to shield it from rubbing on the bulk head and wearing through.

A holistic approach to car modification is required where increased power is matched with up rated braking and handling. Dropping a 2.0 Turbo engine into a car which originally had a much smaller engine will offer a dramatic power hike but the brakes and suspension will be unable to handle this causing a potentially dangerous situation.

The main motivation for modifying a car is to maximise the drivers enjoyment of the vehicle. Most modifications merely release the full potential of a car where manufacturers have detuned or restricted the car in some way for economic or reputational reasons.

It is also fair to assume that each driver has their own personal preferences when it comes to a cars power band, handling characteristics and the aesthetic design of their car.

A well modified car should be safer than the standard unmodified one due to the stronger or uprated parts introduced. Braking distances can be dramatically shortened, the risk of skidding on a deceptive bend or corner or losing control should also be lower.

By increasing an engines efficiency there is often an additional saving in fuel consumption. This fact is particularly true when it comes to tuning modern turbo diesel engines.

It’s not just poorly modified cars that present a danger; poorly maintained cars are just as big a risk. According to TorqueCars senior partner Waynne Smith, “if you walk around any public car park you will find many cars will illegal tyres. The tread depth will be below the legal minimum or there will be damage to the sidewall of the tyre. We try hard to promote responsible car ownership to our members and readers of our articles.”

The forums at TorqueCars are a great place to go to discuss your car tuning project in details with experienced car modifiers and enthusiasts from around the world. By garnering as much information as you can you’ll be better placed to avoid the common pitfalls associated with modified cars.

Electric Reach Trucks Offer Substantial Advantages Over Pantograph Trucks

If you’re a company that currently operates pantograph reach trucks, you’re likely seeking higher residual capacities at high lift heights in narrow aisles, as well as fewer repairs to the load wheels and the reach mechanisms on your vehicles. If so, the ETM/ETV 214/216 mast-moving AC reach trucks f r o m Jungheinrich Lift Truck Corp. are an excellent solution for you.

The increased load capacity and lift height of these trucks is a direct result of their design function, which inserts and removes loads by moving their masts rather than extending or retracting their forks via a pantograph mechanism. “The absence of a pantograph contributes greatly to improved operator confidence and productivity, since the view afforded the operator through the mast and fork carriage is much better, and the fork tips are easier to see,” adds Greg Mason, General Manager of Products and Training at Jungheinrich.

The ETVs differ f r o m  the ETMs in having more widely spaced outriggers (also called base-legs). Both models offer a choice of mast tilt, but the wider ETV is also available with fork tilt above certain lift heights. In addition, both chassis are available with patented mast-reach cushioning, which means the reaching and retracting of the mast assembly is smooth and precise. Integrated side-shifters are a standard feature on the trucks.

“Another way the ETM/ETV trucks differ f r o m pantograph designs is that the operator sits down to drive the vehicle. This configuration is ergonomically preferable in operations where the operator stays on the truck for long periods of time rather than constantly getting on and off,” states Greg Mason. The operator compartment has a low entry height, and the seat, armrest, and steering wheel are all adjustable. The trucks’ centrally-located MULTI-PILOT control lever activates all hydraulic functions, as well as travel direction and the horn. The controls are organized in a logical, highly visible manner, providing greater efficiency via the potential for simultaneous use of two hydraulic functions (e.g., lifting and reaching). The operator display is also centrally-positioned, and clearly shows both operational and safety-related data. It allows various travel programs to be selected or adjusted at the touch of a button.

Since the load wheels on these mast-moving reach trucks have a large diameter, they can negotiate rough floor surfaces better than those on most pantograph models. This means a longer tire life due to less wear, and reduced potential for damage – as well as a smoother ride. And the Curve Control program on the ETM/ETV trucks automatically reduces travel speed when cornering for added stability. This type of speed reduction is not typically found on pantograph-style reach trucks.

Jungheinrich’s proprietary 3-phase AC technology, present in the trucks’ drive, lift and steering systems, offers users higher efficiency and longer operating times per battery charge. Less maintenance, or downtime, is the result of the absence of carbon brushes, brush springs or commutators in the AC motors. Another key operational benefit of AC technology is that it leads to powerful acceleration and quick directional changes without hesitation. Energy reclamation during braking is a standard feature on the trucks, and energy reclamation during load lowering is an option.

For more information about these reach trucks, contact Jungheinrich Lift Truck Corp., 5601 Eastport Boulevard, Richmond, VA 23231. Call: 804-737-7400. Fax: 804-737-7467, or, visit the website at jungheinrich-us.com.

About Jungheinich
Jungheinrich is the world leader in warehouse logistics technology. Founded over fifty years ago, the company has grown f r o m its beginnings as a European manufacturer of materials handling equipment to an international supplier of industrial trucks, warehousing technology and materials-flow products. Today, it is a major supplier of forklift trucks around the globe, and offers a complete range of materials handling equipment, rack systems and services related to manufacturing logistics.

Jungheinrich’s growth has been due in large part to the high value it has always placed on leading-edge design and technological innovation.
